About

Hello, I'm Jamie

I build the part of your wedding that everyone uses and nobody thinks about until it is missing: the place your guests go to find out what is happening, and the place their photographs end up afterwards.

Jamie Hayward, founder of JBH Weddings

I run JBH Media from Cullompton, in Devon. Most of my work is for sole traders and small businesses - people who need a website that works properly and someone who answers the phone, rather than an agency and a ticket number.

JBH Weddings works the same way, just further afield. The website, gallery and Photo Hunt are digital, so they work for a wedding anywhere in the UK. If you would like me there in person - running a photo booth, say - I will travel to it, wherever it is, for the cost of getting there.

Everything I build is written by hand. No page builders, no themes with your names dropped into someone else's layout. It takes longer, and it means your site is actually yours - fast, uncluttered, and built around your day rather than around a template's idea of a wedding.

Weddings came in through Sam, my fiancée. She is a hair and makeup artist and most of her work is bridal, so I have spent a few years hearing about other people's wedding mornings second hand. What came across was how much of it is people rather than product - and how much a couple remembers the suppliers who actually cared about the day rather than just turning up for it. It looked like far better work than another set of brochure pages, so I started building for couples instead.

Why I keep adding to it

A wedding website on its own is a leaflet. What makes it worth having is everything that hangs off it - RSVPs that arrive as a list rather than forty text messages, guests who can find the venue without ringing your mum, and photographs that end up somewhere other than two hundred separate phones.

That is also why I am building a photo booth of my own rather than buying one in. Anything I put in front of your guests, I want to be able to fix at four in the afternoon with the ceremony over and the bar open.

What working with me is like

You deal with me. Not an account manager, not a form that goes into a queue - the person who builds your site is the person who answers when you email at nine on a Sunday because you have just remembered something about the seating plan.

I will also tell you when you do not need something. If the Photo Hunt is not right for your day, or a full website is more than you need, I would rather say so and build you the smaller thing well.

Have a chat

No hard sell and no obligation. Tell me what you are planning and I will tell you honestly whether I can help.
